Regarding implementation of level B and C
of the European Hairdressing Certificate (EHC)

Dear colleagues

On 18 June 2009, we signed a binding document under the Social Dialogue in the Personal Services Sector to the effect that, within two years, we would implement the EHC.

For that purpose, we thus enclose the following documents that we ask you to complete together with the other social partners in the hairdressing trade in your countries:

Hairdressing:
Schedule I:      
The skill requirements for EHC level B. Please indicate whether your national  training programme meets these requirements.

If not, please leave the field blank.

Schedule II:
We have placed EHC level B at European Qualification Framework (EQF) level IV.

Schedule II Compares EQF and EHC, and translates EQF level IV requirements into hairdressing trade terminology.

Please indicate whether your national training programme meets the requirements for EQF level IV and thus EHC.

If not, please leave the field blank.

Management:
Schedule III: 
We have enclosed a skills schedule for level C (schedule III), corresponding to EHC’s management level. When completing the schedule, please indicate whether you have a national management training programme in your hairdressing trade corresponding to EHC level C.

If not, please leave the field blank.

Finally, we enclose a declaration to be signed by the national social partners to the effect that they vouch for the correctness of the submitted answers.

Please submit the completed schedules and signed the declaration to the Secretary in Denmark:

The submitted answers will subsequently be reviewed in the secretary with a view to issuing certificates or to additional dialogue aimed at bringing the national level into agreement with EHC.
